Project Overview
Bilderberg Konferenz (BK Festival Berlin) is both a comic festival and an independent publishing initiative that promotes self-published works and creator-owned projects. The festival features an open call for comic artists, inviting them to showcase their work in a space dedicated to alternative, underground, and self-managed publications.
For the 8th edition of the festival, I was responsible for organizing the event, designing a full advertising campaign, and creating animated promotional videos featuring iconic characters from BK’s published works. These animations were not only festival teasers but also key elements in a strategic marketing campaign aimed at increasing visibility and attracting submissions.

Challenge

The main challenge was to develop a visually engaging and cohesive advertising campaign that reflected BK’s artistic identity and comic universe while ensuring maximum outreach. The campaign needed to:

  • Capture the unique, caricature-style aesthetic of BK’s published comics.

  • Feature well-known characters from previous BK publications, including Tintina—a reinterpretation of Tintin with a female lead.

  • Drive artist participation by promoting the festival’s open call for submissions.
